Calabria develops airports to increase tourism flowsJul 02
"With more than 160 million euros in investments in the three Calabrian airports, between now and 2010, we will be ready to grasp the opportunities offered by the re-launch of the tourism sector". This was the comment of the President of the Calabria Region, Agazio Loiero, on the result of the agreement signed with the President of ENAV and other institutional parties for the development of the Lamezia, Reggio Calabria and Crotone facilities. ''We have a strong bent towards tourism'', stated Loiero ''from the sea to the mountains to the hills, that allows us to programme growth that is more compatible with our history and our identity. In addition, equipping ourselves with efficient airports, which can increase flights and decrease prices, is also an essential need for Calabria, due to the lack of connecting infrastructures".
