Emilia Romagna seeking to conquer GermanyMar 09

The tourism team of Emilia Romagna is even stronger this year on the German market following the positive balance of overnights last summer that increased 1.8%, from May to September, reaching 3,035,000 units. The Region is presenting itself at the ITB to illustrate the various promotion initiatives being planned. In 2010 tourism in Emilia Romagna will launch promotional initiatives with the most important representatives of the German tourism market: including the most important automobile club (ADAC), leading Internet portals, the airlines Germanwings and Air Berlin, and the most important German tour operators and media. Emilia Romagna, which wants to present itself in Germany as the ideal destination for family holidays, cycling tourists, and wine and food itinerary enthusiasts, will carry out important cross marketing initiatives together with the commercial chains Rofu Kinderland (families with children) and Radlbauer (cycling tourism), with BFV-Bayerischer Fussball Verband (the largest football sporting association in German after Bayern with 1.46 million members and 4,500 associations located throughout Baviera), and the employees' recreational clubs of banking institutions (Hypovereinsbank and Sparkasse Club).
