Emilia Romagna proposes 'Itinerando' nature tourismMar 10

The curtains are opening on "Itinerando Emilia Romagna", the great regional project for open-air tourism that began on March 7, 2010 and will end on February 20, 2011. The event is being promoted by Promappennino with the support and collaboration of the Emilia Romagna Region and Unione Appennino e Verde. The programme includes 154 events with excursions on foot and on mountain bike, snowshoeing, night time safaris, trekking and camping in nature. The itineraries have different degrees of difficulty and each is marked by an acronym that indicates the type. There are also trekking proposals and, for those who prefer two wheels, there are itineraries for mountain biking. Twenty four environmental excursion guides will accompany participants illustrating not just the trails but the flora, fauna, tradition and history of the places visited.
