Eight ambassadors of Umbria in Central and South AmericaJul 28
Eight 'Umbrian ambassadors' to present the finest manufactured, tourism and cultural products of the region in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. This is the project that was just concluded, called 'Ambassadors of Umbria in Central and South America' organised by Umbria Export, the structure promoted by Confindustria Perugia for the internationalisation of the local production system, and by the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia. The goal was to create promotional actions for Umbrian products of the food, artisan handicraft and tourism sectors in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. To do this a network of 'ambassadors' from Umbria was created, who have played a role as promoters of the region and its finest manufactured, tourism and cultural products. The eight participants spent three weeks in Umbria, where 125 business-to-business meetings were organised with Umbrian businesses that expressed interest. 60 companies from the region were, therefore, involved, many visited directly by the delegation. The promotion work done by the ambassadors in their respective countries has already generated interest in Umbria amongst more than 200 Latin American businesses. Latin American tour operators were also given an opportunity to get to know the main tourism itineraries offered by Umbria.
