Umbria: positive numbers, but sales downSep 02
Improvement has been uncertain and not homogenous for Umbrian tourism, while sales for tourism businesses are negative. Taking stock of the situation was Federalberghi of the Province of Perugia, which, after analysing the data of the first six months of 2010, says it is not satisfied. According to the numbers provided by the Region, in fact, the first six months of 2010 were up 4.23% for arrivals and 1.94% for overnights. The survey done in July and August on a sample of hotels within the scope of the Benchmarking Project, done by Federalberghi-Confcommercio in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia and Confindustria Perugia, indicates a very slight recovery, with a small increase in the occupation of rooms in July while August was stationary. And according to Federalberghi, to have more customers, hotels must work on their pricing.
